Day One's role in drug prevention services is multi-focal: convener, developer, coordinator, facilitator, and provider of drug prevention services.  Additionally, Day One plays an active role in community organization, policy development, advocacy, and youth and community empowerment. Our programs are based on recommended strategies that have been proven effective through research by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP).  Each of CSAP's six prevention strategies is incorporated in the plan: information dissemination, prevention education, alternative activities, problem identification and referral, community organizing, and environmental approaches.
